Optical Building Blocks (OBB) KiloArc™ Illumination System Creates New Standard In High Powered Tabletop Luminescence

(Birmingham, NJ) – August 26, 2009

Optical Building Blocks Corporation (OBB) has worked with several industry experts and instrument manufactures to pioneer a light source that is powerful, versatile and has unlimited applications.

OBB's KiloArc™ is a complete, integrated 1,000 watt light source that includes power supply, starter, high efficiency collection optics and lamp housing in one compact tabletop system. Versatile, applications can use either a 1,000 W xenon or xenon-mercury lamp. Lamps are easy to change—no tools required. Air-cooled, the KiloArc™ uses a high efficiency ellipsoidal reflector for collection, delivering 12 times more optical output power than from a system using conventional lenses for collection. This means that it can deliver more than 125 W in an area of approximately 7 mm diameter making the light power strong enough to disintegrate a cement wall.

Optical Building Blocks Corporation (OBB) is built on 34 years of pioneering industry experience in Electro-optical instrumentation.

OBB designs, manufactures and markets proprietary light sources, monochromators, detectors, light based components for microscopes and bench top fluorescence systems. OBB products can be found at work in medical, healthcare, industrial process, quality control and environmental science laboratories and research facilities around the world. With production facilities in the United States and Canada, sales and service centers in North America and distributors worldwide, OBB is a recognized leader in light based components and systems.
